About
Strishan Strickland, APCC #18644
Welcome. My name is Strishan Strickland.
As a Registered Associate Professional Clinical Counselor 18644, under the supervision of Michelle Hider, LMFT 106498, I am deeply committed to walking alongside you in your healing journey. My path to therapy began with a profound personal loss. In 2009, when I was eight months pregnant, I noticed a sudden decrease in fetal movement. An ultrasound revealed the devastating news that my baby no longer had a heartbeat; a loss later attributed to umbilical cord entanglement.
This profound grief ultimately catalyzed empowerment, compassion, and a calling to support others navigating the unexpected tragedy of infant mortality. Through my own healing, I discovered my therapeutic purpose: providing a safe, empathetic space for mothers to process grief and loss. I know firsthand that it is possible to find hope on the other side of devastation.
Driven to understand healing more deeply, I pursued an undergraduate degree in Human Development with a minor in Women’s Studies at Cal State East Bay, followed by a Master’s in Clinical Counseling from Alliant International University. I went on to complete my clinical internship and practicum with Kaiser Permanente. Alongside my counseling practice, I bring over 20 years of experience in the healthcare quality and safety field. This dual background fuels my dedication to advocating for patient well-being, refining clinical processes, and ensuring safety standards that protect both patients and medical facilities. Outside of my clinical work, I am a proud wife and the mother of three handsome boys.
